I blogged about it a while back: http://oursforayear.blogspot.com/2009/02/pet-peeve.html

Even today, I was in a store with Cabana, my guide dog puppy, and for some reason, there was a woman in the store with a big black poodle (not a service dog). I don't know why she had him in the store at all, but she also had him off-leash. The poodle came over and sniffed at Cabana for a minute, then growled and snapped and lunged at her. The dog's owner was paying at the counter, not even supervising her dog, so it took her a minute to come over and claim and reprimand her dog. She quickly finished paying and left without apologizing or acknowledging us at all--although she was probably very embarrassed.

Thankfully, Cabana was not hurt, and she was smart enough not to get aggressive back. But it just makes me so crazed when dog owners THINK their dogs are well-behaved enough to be off leash. Even the BEST behaved dog in the world can make a mistake and run into the street, go up to an animal-fearing person, or have a bad reaction to another animal. That's why everyone is safer and in full command of their rights when dogs are on leashes.

Enough of my rant! I'm glad to have found your blog. I look forward to getting to know Milly!Infrequent Flyershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01695917474916791473noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3337217613649286961.post-58081765397296489472009-08-04T09:26:01.710-07:002009-08-04T09:26:01.710-07:00what a great post. so sad to read about the idiot ...what a great post. so sad to read about the idiot who let his dog out into oncoming traffic.
